The XC6810 series are ultra-small charging ICs for Li-ion batteries, suitable for wearables, hearables, or IoT devices. It has various functions such as charge and discharge control, wireless power supply support, etc.
Charging current is 1mA ~ 25mA, suitable for small lithium-ion batteries, and it can provide a wide range of charging voltage of 3.8V ~ 4.4V.The XC6810 series are equipped with shutdown function to suppress battery discharge when stored or not in use, and wake-up function using an external push button, extending the life of batteries and devices.
400nA PWM/PFM Ultra-Low Quiescent Current, Step-up DC/DC Converters
Torex Semiconductor Ltd. (Tokyo Japan: President, Koji Shibamiya) has launched 400nA PWM/PFM Ultra-Low Quiescent Current, Step-up DC/DC Converters–XC9145 series. The XC9145 series reduces current consumption to 400nA with an ultra-low current consumption circuit. By adopting PWM/PFM control method, the efficiency at light load, especially at the output current of several μA, has been greatly improved compared to conventional product (fig.1). Efficiency at VIN=2.4V、VOUT=3.3V、IOUT=10μA reaches 89.9%, which works well with the MCUs and SoCs whose power consumption is getting lower. Without complicated control, the constant boost operation significantly reduces the power consumption of devices with a large system standby ratio, such as IoT/portable devices. It also contributes to longer battery life.
We use an ultra-small WLP-6-05(1.28 x 1.08 x h0.4mm) in XC9145 series package (fig.2). This makes it possible to save space in the IC mounting area. Even if peripheral parts (small coil, small ceramic capacitor) are externally attached, mounting area can be accommodated within 5.4 x 6.7 mm (Fig. 3). In addition, the high efficiency during standby makes it possible to reduce the size and capacity of the battery. It also contributes to the miniaturization of the entire device.
XC6193, XC6194 Series Push Button Intelligent Load Switches
The XC6193 and XC6194 series consist of intelligent load switches which can significantly reduce power consumption while devices are in standby status after shipment or when their power supplies are OFF, and can enable power supplies to be shut down in the event of system freezes. They can contribute greatly to improved power saving for devices and can extend operation times.
Generally, if an alkaline or other battery is continuously over-discharged, gas produced by chemical reactions accumulates in the battery interior, and it is believed that if this gas builds up pressure and is emitted, a fluid leak will occur at the same time. Over-discharging of batteries, the primary cause of fluid leakage, can be partially prevented by the input voltage UVLO function of this IC. If the battery voltage falls below a specified value due to continued over-discharging, this function will switch the power supply from an ON to OFF state, and eliminate the over-discharging condition.
Voltage Detector with Separated Sence Pin & Delay Capacitor Pin
The XC6118 series is highly precise, low quiescent current voltage detector, manufactured with CMOS process and laser trimming technologies. Since the sense pin is separated from power supply, it allows the IC to monitor added power supply.
Moreover, with the built-in delay circuit, connecting the delay capacitance pin to the capacitor enables the IC to provide an arbitrary release delay time. Both CMOS and N-channel open drain output configurations are available.
Expanded Lineup of Ultra-Low Quiescent Current, Inductor Built-in 150mA Step-down DC/DC Converters”micro DC/DC” XCL232 Series
Torex Semiconductor Ltd. (Tokyo Japan: President, Koji Shibamiya, 6616: 1st section at Tokyo Stock Exchange) has launched the XCL232 which is a new series of inductor built-in step-down DC/DC converter. The XCL232 series is a synchronous step-down micro DC/DC converter which integrates an inductor and a control IC in one tiny package.
The efficiency performance at a light load current is dramatically improved by implementing ultra-low power consumption circuits which has 200nA consumption current, and PFM control method. In particular, the efficiency at an output current of several μA to 10 μA has been improved by 70% or more compared to conventional products (Fig. 1). Compatible with low consumption MCUs and SoCs. In addition, a low output voltage from 0.5V can be selected, makes it ideal for low voltage SoCs.
Ultra-low current consumption Expanded Lineup of LDO regulators With Green Operation Function XC6241 Series
Torex Semiconductor Ltd. (Tokyo Japan: President, Koji Shibamiya, 6616: 1st section at Tokyo Stock Exchange) has launched the XC6241 as a new serie of LDO regulator featuring ultra-low current consumption, suitable for IoT devices and wearable devices.
The XC6241 series is a CMOS process high-speed LDO regulator IC that achieves low current consumption, high accuracy, and high ripple rejection, available in small and thin packages. The output voltage is fixed internally and can be set in the range of 1.2V to 5.0V (0.05V step). It has a Green Operation (GO) function that achieves both a high-speed operation and a low current consumption, and switches automatically between a high speed (HS) mode and a power save (PS) mode depending on the output current.
